We just sneaked in last year’s Curl for Kids Bonspiel before the first COVID-19 lock down. Fast forward one year and we are still trying to figure this thing out. Our plan is to move forward with our 2021 Bonspeil pending any government restrictions that would prohibit our function to run as planned. All restrictions will be in place including the wearing of masks and social distancing as per club policy.
This year we are offering a revised curling experience at 2 different venues to keep our numbers safe and manageable. We will only be able to accommodate a total of 20 teams. You will need to register your team early to ensure you are included in this year’s event.
We will have 12 teams of 4 curlers in St. Thomas and 8 teams of 4 in Aylmer. All teams will curl 2 – 6 end games with an admission/lunch break between games at their chosen venue. Both venues will be in constant contact through social media and live streams to keep everyone aware of scoring and team spirit.
The theme this year will be ‘Mask-erade’. Masks will be mandatory but we want you to have a little fun with your team’s PPE. Get creative and keep everyone safe at the same time. Prizes will be awarded to one overall Top Fundraiser/Team and the most Spirited team from the Bonspiel. There will be additional prizes for highest scored team at each venue.
