A Big Day for Community, Competition, and Mentoring
On Saturday, January 17, 2026, the Joe Thornton Community Centre was buzzing with energy as 30 teams came together for the Big Winter Toss Cornhole Tournament in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs.
From the first bag tossed to the final championship match, the day was filled with friendly competition, and an incredible show of community support.
Tournament Highlights
Participants competed in a round-robin format, before advancing to a double-elimination bracket that raised the intensity and excitement as the night went on.
After an impressive run, Adam Brunton and Craig Locke (4AJ) claimed the championship, going undefeated all night. In a hard-fought final, they defeated Al Regeir and Ryan Esler, while Joel Harmer and Chad Lewis finished strong in third place.
Congratulations to all teams who participated and helped make the tournament such a success!
Impact That Matters
Thanks to the generosity of our players, sponsors, and supporters, the Big Winter Toss raised over $7,500 for BBBS mentoring programs.
These funds are vital to supporting current mentoring matches and helping us create new ones, ensuring more local children and youth have access to positive, life-changing relationships.

Events like the Big Winter Toss would not be possible without the incredible support of our sponsors.
A special thank you to our Title Sponsor, Doug Tarry Homes, for their outstanding commitment to our community and to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
