Teen Literacy Mentoring pairs high school mentors with students in grades 1-6 once a week for 70-minute one-to-one sessions. During these sessions, mentors help with academic tasks, homework and school projects, fostering a positive developmental relationship through fun and engaging activities. The sessions are monitored by agency staff, ensuring support is always available. Teen Literacy Mentoring allows high school students to make a meaningful impact in their community while gaining valuable personal and professional benefits. The program fosters close connections between mentors & mentees, creating a rewarding experience for both. In addition to supporting younger students, high school mentors benefit by earning community involvement hours, enhancing their resumes with meaningful volunteer experience and reference letters, exploring creative expression, and developing valuable career skills and self-growth.
