One reason a match may close is because the youth turns 18 and ages out of our program. Tammy and Lauren may be graduating from the program after three years but their friendship is going to last a life time. Lauren came into Tammy’s life at a critical time in a young person’s life starting high school and trying to figure out life. We have witnessed how powerful the mentoring relationship can be as Tammy went from a quiet timid youth to a very confident, independent, and chatty young adult.
